Landscape Information Modeling for vulnerable landscape recovery: the case of Bom Jardim in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil.
Abstract:
Even with the difficulty of implementing NBS for EbA as a solution due to the inconsistent documentation of past experiences and heavy dependence on location, ecological and social conditions, would it be possible to implement NBS that incorporates the needs of each place? This paper shows the experience of the implementation of an NBS in an urban area, in the context of “Present City Project”, using parametric modeling to simulate outcomes during the planning process. The algorithm used inputs to develop a multi-criteria analysis capable of translating urban complexity. The result of this process is a comprehensive map identifying the most efficient locations for implementing GI based on the provided date and the streets suitable for interventions with NBS as well as their water absorption capacity. Throughout the process of submitting the "Present City Project," the algorithm played a pivotal role as an essential tool for raising public awareness.

A Parametric Approach to Efficient Implementation of Green Infrastructure in the Urban Field
Abstract.
Water availability has a key role in their process of occupation. However, accelerated urbanization had several detrimental impacts, increasing the vulnerability of urban communities. Because of the limitations of traditional planning, an alternative approach is emerging to respond to the constant changes in the landscape. Now, green infrastructure (GI), an ecosystem - based approach (EbA), is being used combined with traditional solutions to increase the resilience of the cities. In this paper, we proposed the use of an algorithm to determine the best place to implement GI. The algorithm used the inputs to develop a multicriteria analysis capable of translating urban complexity. Results show that the GI solution can’t be efficiently implemented without context evaluation. However, the algorithm has the potential to become an informative tool in the decision - Making process of urban planning.

Parametric Design in Building Reconfiguration: an Application Towards Environmental Quality
Abstract:
This paper introduces an application study that analyzes environmental variables in existing buildings, focusing on the area of thermal and luminous quality. The object of study is an academic office building, where adaptability emerges as a pivotal feature and to provide environmental quality to the occupants. The analysis methodology was based on the use of parametric simulations that allow to explore different scenarios and solutions, in addition, an on site measurement was carried out for a better understanding of the object of study. In this research, the potential of parametric technologies is analyzed as an auxiliary tool in design decisions, which seeks to explore possibilities, rearranging variables to achieve better environmental solutions.
